University of Nottingham Green Festival

I am writing to let you know about a Green Festival that ‘Sprout’ are supporting taking place on the Downs of the University of Nottingham Park Campus this Thursday 5th June from 1pm-9pm.

The festival is being organised by Students at the University of Nottingham but they are keen to promote the festival to people citywide and attract families and young people from all walks of life, not just students.

‘Sounds on the Downs’ is an annual event that aims to raise awareness of environmental and social justice issues, whilst promoting sustainable environmental practices such as the use of renewable energy.

This year’s festival will include music from local Nottingham bands and DJs, an acoustic music tent, workshops, circus skills and games, face-painting and body art, an eco cinema, stalls from various community groups and organisations, summer fete style activities, locally sourced food, a free shop, fair trade goods, caporeira demonstrations and lots, lots more!

Please tell your family and friends about this event as anyone is welcome to attend!

I have attached a flyer about the event and a map of the University Campus.  ‘The Downs’ is the grassed area between Rutland, Sherwood, Derby, Lincoln and Hugh Stewart halls.

If you have any queries please e-mail Chloe, one of the organizers on Sue+sj@nottingham.ac.uk or if you contact me on the number below I will do my best to help.

Let’s hope it stays sunny! J

Best,
