Many brides today are opting for a wedding butterfly release for after their ceremony, as opposed to throwing rice or releasing doves

Many brides today are opting for a wedding butterfly release for after their ceremony, as opposed to throwing rice or releasing doves. To release butterflies for a wedding means to order them beforehand, receive the shipment of boxes of butterflies, and care for them properly for the day or two before the wedding that you’ll have them.

This isn’t very difficult and typically can be handled by a friend or family member. A wedding butterfly release is very romantic and something that everyone enjoys, including the children, and is less risky than releasing birds and less of a mess than throwing rice! So how do you a butterfly release for your wedding ceremony?

Ordering the Butterflies

Of course you’ll need to make sure that the venue you choose will allow such a release; typically it’s not an issue if there is a large enough space outdoors. Some city locations don’t allow a wedding butterfly release because there is not enough surrounding nature to support the butterflies, but of course you’ll need to check beforehand.

You can order the butterflies from any number of companies online. They are typically packed individually in boxes that are meant to keep them calm and inactive for the time period during shipping. Rarely does a wedding butterfly release harm the butterflies, if you follow the guidelines for keeping them safe.

Releasing the Butterflies

For a successful butterfly release for weddings make sure there is at least 30 minutes of daylight left as they need to find a place to roost for the night. The weather needs to be warm otherwise they will not fly away. Butterflies are delicate so if any land on a guest it’s good to not “flick” them away but just gently nudge them and they should fly off.

Remember that some butterflies can get quite large so you want to be prepared when they’re released; let guests know so they’re not startled as of course butterflies don’t always fly away as birds do. If you keep these quick points in mind you will have a successful wedding butterfly release at your event!

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty glittered in a gold sari as she put on a lavish wedding reception following her nuptials at the weekend

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty glittered in a gold sari as she put on a lavish wedding reception following her nuptials at the weekend.
The former Celebrity Big Brother star wed millionaire businessman Raj Kundra, 34, on Sunday.
But it seems the pre-wedding celebrations and all-night party that followed were not enough to mark the pair’s momentous event.
So Shilpa, 34, threw another function last night at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in India’s Mumbai.

Shetty and her new husband Raj Kundra have escaped to the fantastic Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas for their honeymoon.

The Caribbean holiday will take the loving couple away from the intense media spotlight of India to the stunning setting of the Paradise Islands in the Bahamas. After days of wedding celebrations, the couple are in need of a relaxing break to start married life together.

The couple had reportedly been offered 36 lakh (£47,000) from magazines to take pictures of their wedding, but Shilpa refused, wanting to keep the wedding a private affair for family and friends.

Two days after the wedding, the much more public affair of the reception took place in Mumbai at a reported cost of 5 crores (£651,000). Some 1,500 guests were invited to attend the reception including a host of Bollywood stars, cricket hero Shane Warne and Michael Jackson’s brother Jermaine.

Shilpa has never been on a Caribbean holiday to the Bahamas and so husband Raj surprised her with a very special itinerary at the exclusive Atlantis Resort. The couple will stay at the hotel’s Regal Suite whilst enjoying the white
beaches and crystal clear waters of the Caribbean.

Hello there.

I’m sure this isn’t the done thing, but I’m in a bit of a sticky situation…

I’m a composer on the brink of applying to study composition at an esteemed University. I need a “Large Scale Orchestral Piece” in order to apply. I don’t have one.

I’m looking for as many orchestral musicians as I possibly get hold of in order to record a no rehearsal necessary piece for orchestra.

The piece will be written as a kind of musical game, a sort of controlled improvisation. Most of the sounds I’ll ask you to make will be extended techniques, or just exotic/odd noises. We can go through the sounds you like to make on the day and work them into the piece.

The same will apply to the choir (!) who will hopefully be singing at the centre of the work.

I have tried this technique before and it worked very well, but on a much smaller scale. Here is a link to a recording of that previous version: “Quintet”. www.myspace.com/crowestephen
There will be a definite structure to the piece, so it won’t sound like a free-for-all, but it should be good fun for all concerned as we find out what thrills and what fails.

If you are happy to play more detailed music I will be writing out some brief notated phrases.

The session will be 2 hours long and in Waterloo on Saturday the 13th September at 1pm. It’s unpaid I’m afraid, but I will be providing gin and biscuits.

Would you be interested? Either as a group or just individual players…
Many, many thanks,

Stephen Crowe.
